Imagine that you’re on a freeway or an expressway and you are looking for a specific exit.
But you’re not sure where it is. So, you will keep driving in the slow lane looking for that exit because you’re not sure when it’s going to come up. You don’t want to miss it, right?
However, when you’re not looking for an exit, you’d probably be driving in the fast lane, isn’t it?
Likewise, when you are in a business or a job that you don’t have a passion for or have very little interest in or it doesn’t suit you at all and if you are doing it ONLY to make money, you’ll always be thinking, “How do I get out of here? What else could I do? This isn’t fulfilling. I’m not happy.”
Therefore, when you’re in a job that doesn’t sing to your heart, you will always be driving in slow lane, not performing as well you could or you want to and looking to jump out as soon as you see the exit.
It is not wrong at all to be in a job for making money ONLY. Since you have your own programming, limitations and requirements that money ONLY can fulfil, sometimes it becomes utterly necessary for you to go after money. But the downside is that you actually won’t make more money because you won’t perform at your best as you are driving in the slow lane always looking for an exit.
Therefore, its better to be doing something that you’re passionate about and something that you are interested in.
You need to be doing something that involves making good use of your personal strengths, values and talents. Something that adds value to your and other people’s life.
Don’t worry if you think you have passed the age of making this transition.
Don’t fall in the trap of “What would others think”?
Don’t think that you will fail because you won’t.
When you do things that you love and feel passionately about, you are connected to your divine self that never fails at anything. In fact, if you take this decision, you will outperform everyone else.
You might say that you know people who aren’t following their passion but still make big bucks and are happy too. My answer is what if their passion is to accumulate money.
The bottom line is that you only need to do well in areas that are in tune with your spirit, heart, passion, gifts, and strengths if you want to be truly successful. Then you’ll be driving in the fast lane rather than being unsure and becoming stuck in the slow lane.
If you choose a vehicle only because you think it’s going to make you rich – and not because it’s your true calling – you’ll always be unconsciously looking for a way out, an exit. You’ll always perform poorly, and you’ll always be unhappy.
